John Logan
John joined Vodafone in 1984 after working for some major corporates for several years in the Middle East; he has worked in various departments within the Group for over 20 years, including 12 years as the Director of Project Management and Quality Assurance for Vodafone Group and two years as Operations Director for Vodafone Ltd in the UK. John was the founding CEO of Vodafone Egypt and later Vodafone Hungary.
He also has operational experience as the advisor to the CEO of Polkomtel in Poland, where he was working until May 2002. John has also worked as Regional Governance Managing Director, with responsibility for the Operational performance of Poland, Egypt, Romania, Hungary and Uganda.
Having followed the creation of The Vodafone Group Foundation (VGF) as a Trustee, John transferred to being its Director in July 2002 where he oversaw the creation of nineteen local foundations as well as the start up of over 26 global projects.
Since his retirement from Vodafone after 20 years service, John has established a private practice focusing on Corporate Social Innovation (CSI) and General Management in the mobile telecoms space. Amongst his many current projects he includes CSI support to a high tech start-up that enables the mobile phone to become a virtual ATM.
He has retained links with Vodafone and has taken the lead in a scoping project for Vodafone’s assessment of it’s ‘beyond 3G strategy’ (Fourth Generation Mobile telephone services).
